Our Staff

  • Ilanna Greenfield, Founder and Director

Ilanna Greenfield grew up near the coast in Belfast Maine deep in the woods with large organic gardens, an artist mother, and Waldorf-inspired schooling. She continued from Maine to California with an art degree in Graphic Design and later a second degree in Early Childhood education. From book design, website, logos, nannying, gardening, managing an art gallery, owning a jewelry business, and then meeting her husband in the SF Bay Area in 2011. Ilanna and Shane connected on sustainable earth-friendly practices and wanting to see a better future. They sold everything and traveled the globe for a couple of years, dreaming of starting a permaculture farm and searching for the right community before moving to Mount Shasta in 2013. Ilanna and Shane live off-grid with their 6-year-old daughter Ayla and served the community for 9 years with their goat dairy, earth-friendly products, and vegetable and herb CSA. They then diversified into a growing Tiny House business and started looking for more earth-friendly summer camp and alternative schooling options for their daughter. In 2023 Ilanna founded the Regenerative Arts Learning Center & RAD Camp to bring all the experiences together into one RAD offering for the next generations, which is everything. These kids are our future and we work every day to bring Ilanna’s vision to our local families.

  • Dana Andresen, Community Relations and Camp Counselor

Dana Andresen came to Mt Shasta after many years on the road as a wilderness guide, outdoor educator, and photographer. After growing up in South Florida, Dana moved out west in 2016 to pursue conservation education. Flowing between seasonal employment opportunities, Dana has worked a lot of odd jobs in odd places, usually involving elements of conservation and education in the face of climate change. Since moving to Mt. Shasta, Dana loves taking kids to play games in the garden at our RAD Camp and focusing on building more collaborative community events at the Learning Center. Dana also loves spending her winters on the snow as a local Mt. Shasta Ski Patroller, and exploring all the great mountains and trails that Siskiyou County has to offer.

Raised in Southern California then living across Hawai’i, Thailand, Oregon, and Michigan, Sea is looking forward to spending more time at our RAD Center. Sea’s got over 15 years of nanny and babysitter experience, and a passion for outdoor activities like rock climbing, yoga, hiking, gardening, making art, cooking delicious vegan food, and taking her dog Mandu on bike rides. Sea has also spent time as a zipline guide, kayaking instructor, life guard, and now as one of our RAD Camp Counselors. We are so happy Sea decided to join our team and bring her contagious laugh and whimsical personality to RAD camp.

  • Shane McClellan, Building & Maintenace

Shane grew up building with his family, and pursuing all kinds of passions in art, music, and living a sustainable life. After meeting Ilanna in 2011, the two traveled extensively while working to build the community and permaculture lifestyle that would serve them best. After moving to Mt. Shasta, Shane set up LV Tiny Houses and started building their homestead in 2013 where they currently live with their family. Shane is an important part of our RAD Community and hopes to bring more of his building skills to the Learning Center as we move forward with more education.

  • Maggie the Camp Pup!

Magnolia is a big puppy growing up on the farm with Ilanna and Dana, and loves coming to camp to hang out with our kids in the garden. While she's learning her place on the farm as a livestock guardian, she's also coming to camp for socialization and belly rubs.

Our Partners

We would be nothing without the businesses and organizations that support us. A huge thank you to all our sponsors for feeding our campers, providing materials, and helping us open our doors to our community.

Our Community

We have so much gratitude for all the people that contribute to our organization. Enjoy these kind words from some of our RAD parents, whose support is an integral part of our success.

Rachel (7-year-old Seth’s parent)

“RAD Camp is my son’s favorite safe space for socializing! The team are devoted to creating a community center and we have been a part of that creation since 2023. I highly recommend parents join in, for they can rest assured that their children will be in very good hands.”

Greta (6-year-old Eloise’s parent)

“My daughter is always delighted to show me what she learned at camp, from finger-knitting to making her own notebook with handmade paper. I am so thankful for the RADC staff who create a safe, loving environment for children to explore different arts and crafts.”

Renee (6-year-old Joaquin’s parent)

“What’s not to love! Joaquin is so inspired to help me water and maintain our garden this summer! And, as always, his creativity shines.”

Irisa (8-year-old Addison’s parent)

“I really love that you have the kids learn in the garden and gather food. Also all the wonderful arts and crafts, it’s all the things I wish I had time to do with my kid.”

Sophie (4-year-old Keeva’s parent)

“I love the songs Keeva is learning, and the foundation of caring, empowering values that is helping her develop. I love the care for the earth that is reflected in so many of the projects, the quality of attention and care from the fabulous team, and that she’s learning about gardening.”
